We are looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Technician to join our service team in Red Deer. This position involves inspection, testing, service, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and installation of fire alarm and related life safety systems for our commercial and industrial customers.

The successful candidate must be comfortable working independently, troubleshooting system problems, dealing directly with customers, and accurately completing required inspection and service documentation.

Primary Responsibilities

- Perform annual inspections and testing of fire alarm systems
- Troubleshoot, service, repair, and maintain fire alarm systems
- Install and modify fire alarm system components and devices
- Diagnose system faults and determine appropriate repairs
- Complete required inspection reports, service documentation, and customer records
- Inspect, service, and maintain emergency lighting systems
- Service and troubleshoot intercom systems
- Service fire alarm monitoring systems and related equipment
- Perform backflow preventer testing and related service where qualified
- Perform general electrical service and installation work where the technician is a qualified electrician
- Communicate with customers regarding system operation, deficiencies, repairs, and required service
- Work with other technicians and office staff to coordinate service work and customer requirements

Qualifications Applicants must be qualified to perform fire alarm inspection, testing, service, and maintenance work in Alberta.

Preference will be given to candidates who are:

- A certified CFAA Fire Alarm Technician, or
- A Journeyperson Electrician with the required fire alarm training and qualifications

Applicants must also:




- Hold a valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driving record
- Have experience inspecting, servicing, and troubleshooting fire alarm systems
- Be able to read and understand electrical drawings, schematics, and fire alarm documentation
- Have a good understanding of low-voltage systems and electrical troubleshooting
- Be comfortable working independently at customer locations
- Have good communication, organizational, and customer service skills
- Be able to accurately complete inspection and service documentation

Experience with emergency lighting, intercom systems, fire alarm monitoring, security systems, backflow testing, or general electrical service work would be considered an asset.

Work Schedule

Regular working hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Fire alarm technicians participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule.

A company service vehicle and all required tools and equipment are provided for work purposes.

This position is based in Red Deer and involves travel to customer locations throughout our service area.

We are looking for a dependable technician who takes pride in their work, can troubleshoot problems effectively, works well with customers and coworkers, and understands the importance of quality workmanship in the fire and life safety industry.

Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
