This is an opportunity for an experienced fleet and equipment professional to take ownership of Resolve’s fleet, shop and yard operations. The Fleet & Yard Manager will oversee equipment readiness, maintenance and repairs, mechanic workflow, fleet records, equipment dispatch and yard organization.

This position is based in Fort St. John, British Columbia. The successful applicant must reside in Fort St. John or be willing to relocate to the community.

Responsibilities

Fleet & Equipment Management

- Maintain an accurate fleet and asset registry, including ownership, location, condition, utilization, maintenance history, warranties, incidents and depreciation.
- Coordinate the dispatch, mobilization and return of vehicles, trailers and equipment for each job.
- Oversee inspections, preventive maintenance and repairs and provide final authorization for equipment to leave the yard, ensuring it is safe, properly maintained,



documented and ready for operational use.
- Oversee the work of mechanics, assign repair priorities and review completed work orders, inspection sheets and repair documentation.
- Monitor repair quality, recurring mechanical issues and equipment downtime and ensure defects and safety-critical repairs are resolved before equipment is returned to service.
- Coordinate third-party repairs, warranty work, parts suppliers and equipment rentals.
- Oversee parts identification, purchasing and inventory management.
- Track fleet operating costs, repair costs, fuel consumption, utilization and downtime.
- Verify vendor invoices, service records and client equipment tickets before submitting them for processing.
- Make recommendations regarding the repair, replacement or retirement of equipment and assist with annual fleet budgets and capital replacement planning.
- Participate in after-hours or emergency coordination when equipment failures affect active jobs.

Yard & Shop Operations

- Organize the yard and establish designated areas for operational equipment, equipment awaiting inspection or repair, out-of-service assets, parts, materials and waste.
- Coordinate yard maintenance, snow removal, lighting, security, housekeeping and access control.
- Maintain safe traffic flow and parking arrangements for employees, contractors, deliveries and heavy equipment.
- Ensure tools, shop equipment and lifting devices are inspected, maintained and properly stored.
- Oversee the safe storage and disposal of fuel, oils, batteries, tires,



hazardous materials and other waste and coordinate spill-response requirements.

Compliance & Records

- Ensure vehicles and equipment have current registrations, insurance, permits, certifications and required inspections.
- Ensure pre-use and post-use inspections are completed, deficiencies are reported and maintenance and repair records are retained.
- Support compliance with transportation, occupational health and safety, environmental, client and company requirements.
- Work with the Safety team to investigate equipment-related incidents, damage and near misses.
- Maintain accurate records for operational reporting, audits, client requirements and insurance purposes.

Qualifications

- Relevant experience in fleet management, heavy equipment operations, shop supervision or a related field.
- Strong practical knowledge of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment, including mechanical condition, maintenance requirements, inspections and safe operating standards.
- Experience overseeing fleet maintenance, preventive maintenance programs, repairs and mechanic or yard workflows.
- Ability to review work orders, inspection records and maintenance documentation and make sound equipment-readiness decisions.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with mechanics, Operations, field personnel, suppliers and service providers in a rapid-paced environment.
- Proficiency with fleet-management software, electronic maintenance records, Microsoft Office and other business technology.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety, equipment reliability and quality standards.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence.

Pay: $110,000.00-$130,000.38 per year
