Northstone Concrete is a growing concrete forming and finishing company specializing in residential and high-end concrete construction throughout the Lower Mainland.

We’re looking for a skilled Forming & Framing Carpenter to join our crew. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in residential framing, concrete forming, and ICF construction who takes pride in accurate layout, quality workmanship, and getting the job done right.

This is a hands-on position working alongside our foreman and concrete crews on foundations, ICF foundations, walls, footings, and other concrete projects.

What You'll Do

Your responsibilities will include

- Constructing formwork for concrete footings, walls, pads, and foundations
- Performing accurate layout from survey pins, benchmarks, drawings, and plans
- Reading and interpreting construction drawings and dimensions
- Measuring, cutting, and installing lumber and forming materials
- Cutting, placing, and tying rebar
- Installing and assembling ICF blocks
- Installing bracing and supporting formwork prior to concrete placement
- Assisting with concrete pours
- Placing, screeding, and troweling concrete as required
- Stripping and dismantling concrete formwork
- Maintaining clean and organized work areas
- Working safely and efficiently as part of a crew
- Identifying potential layout, formwork, or construction issues before they become problems
- Working with the foreman to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule

What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will have:

- 5 years of carpentry/framing experience
- Strong concrete forming experience
- Hands-on ICF experience
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and plans
- Strong understanding of construction layout and measurements
- Ability to work accurately from survey pins and elevations
- Experience with rebar installation




- Experience building footings and wall forms
- Experience stripping concrete forms
- Basic concrete placing and finishing experience
- Ability to work independently while taking direction from the foreman
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable transportation
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
- Ability to work throughout the Lower Mainland

A Strong Candidate Will Be Someone Who:

- Knows how to build, not just labour
- Can look at a set of plans and understand what needs to be built
- Is confident with layout and measurements
- Has a good understanding of framing and how structures go together
- Can build clean, straight, properly braced concrete forms
- Takes pride in producing quality work
- Can anticipate problems and communicate them to the foreman
- Works well in a quick-paced construction environment
- Wants to grow with a company rather than simply collect a paycheque

Tools & Transportation Candidates should have their own basic carpentry tools and reliable transportation to get to job sites throughout the Lower Mainland.

Compensation

$32–$38 per hour, depending on experience, skill level, and ability to work independently.

Candidates with strong experience in framing, concrete forming, ICF, and layout will be at the top end of the wage range.
