Role Description The Forward Deployed Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Vancouver Metropolitan Area. This role involves working closely with the founder and early users to design, implement, and iterate on AI-driven tools and automation solutions, from back-end services to lightweight web interfaces. The engineer will be responsible for building and deploying production-quality software, integrating AI models and APIs, and refining workflows based on real-world feedback.

Day-to-day tasks include developing new features, debugging and improving existing systems,



managing infrastructure for small-scale deployments, and creating technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders. The role requires a hands-on, experimental mindset, with frequent prototyping, testing, and adaptation to evolving product ideas.

Qualifications

- Solid foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software design principles.
- Solid skills in Software Development and Programming, with experience building and maintaining production-grade applications.
- Proficiency in Back-End Web Development, including APIs, databases, and server-side frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and modular, maintainable code practices.
- Familiarity with AI/ML tooling, APIs, or model integration in practical applications is highly beneficial.
- Comfort with Linux-based environments, scripting, and basic infrastructure or DevOps practices for small deployments.
- Ability to work independently in a small, experimental setting, collaborate directly with users, and translate ambiguous needs into concrete technical solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
