We are seeking a passionate and dedicated French Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in language instruction, early childhood education, and experience working with children and/or high school students. This role offers an opportunity to inspire students to develop their French language skills through engaging lessons and personalized tutoring.
The successful applicant will be responsible for creating a positive learning environment that fosters communication, cultural understanding, and academic growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver comprehensive French language lessons tailored to students’ age and skill levels
- Incorporate classroom activities that promote speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in French
- Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS) to track student progress and assign coursework and familiar with virtual classroom tools.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with special education needs
- Provide tutoring support to reinforce classroom instruction and address individual learning goals
- Proofread and assess student assignments for accuracy and language proficiency
- Communicate regularly with students and parents regarding progress, challenges, and achievements
- Collaborate with colleagues to design curriculum materials that integrate cultural elements of the French-speaking world
- Maintain a professional classroom environment conducive to learning and creativity
Requirements
- Proven experience with classroom teaching, tutoring, or early childhood education in language instruction
- OCT or FSL are an asset.
- Minimum Bachelor degree and above.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children and parents
- Knowledge of math concepts is a plus for integrating interdisciplinary lessons
- Experience with LMS platforms for managing coursework and assessments
- Familiarity with the French International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum (PYP, MYP, and/or DP French B/Ab Initio are highly valued).
- Experience in an international or diverse school setting.
- Attention to detail for proofreading student work and ensuring accuracy in instruction
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans that motivate students of varying ages and abilities
- Prior experience working with students to prepare for DELF, TCF/TEC are desired.
