Overview The Front Desk Agent and Night Auditor ensure the smooth operation of the hotel overnight by combining front desk service with end-of-day financial and administrative duties.
Responsibilities include guest check-ins, reservations, processing payments, nightly audits, and generating reports. The role also involves maintaining security, entering accounting data, and supporting the guest rooms as needed. This position requires strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest service.
Duties
- Conduct nightly audit procedures, balancing and consolidating departmental ledgers, and preparing required hotel operating reports.
- Audit all charges and postings, correcting errors as needed, and close accounts in preparation for the next business day.
- Process guest payments and generate, format, and distribute daily financial and operational reports.
- Take reservations in accordance with hotel procedures and input them accurately into the system.
- Check guests in and out efficiently and courteously, ensuring a positive first and last impression.
- Respond to guest inquiries - by phone, email, or in person - in a professional, timely manner, resolving concerns where possible and escalating when necessary.
- Provide luggage assistance including tagging, storing, and retrieving items from the holding room.
- Arrange transportation for guests as needed.
- Count and verify cash, reconcile shift activity, and check inventory of keys with the departing shifts.
- Document, program, and deliver scheduled wake-up calls.
- Complete nightly security rounds of the property, reporting any issues or concerns.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness and safety in the lobby, business center, pool, and fitness areas.
- Record relevant guest information and service notes in the property management system.
- Communicate and coordinate guest needs with other departments to ensure a seamless experience.
- Stay informed about local attractions, community events, and resort services to enhance guest services.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and legal regulations.
- Assist with training new employees on night audit procedures and service standards.
- Demonstrates understanding and awareness of all company policies and procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Safety
- Performs related duties and other projects as assigned
Job Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent requires; post-secondary education or hospitality preferred
Experience
- One (1) to Three (3) years of experience in a similar role
Skills
- Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools,
- Languages: Fluent in English
