About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and mechanically inclined individual to join our Rubber Department as a General Labourer. This position plays a key role in building and preparing rubber rollers using manual lathes and other equipment. The ideal candidate is safety‑focused, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working in a hands‑on manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up and operate manual lathe machines to build rubber rollers according to established processes and Work Orders.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements.
- Perform quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, diameter tapes, and other precision tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections, maintenance, and calibration to ensure safe and accurate operation.
- Adjust machine settings based on inspection results to maintain product quality.
- Complete required fields and documentation in the Work Order Program.
- Operate a 10‑ton overhead crane and lift truck (training provided if needed).
- Work collaboratively with team members and coordinate with other departments when required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following all safety protocols and procedures.

Qualifications





- Experience operating manual lathes or similar machining equipment is an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work orders.
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, diameter tapes).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of tolerances and machine adjustments.
- Commitment to workplace safety and safe operating practices.
- Certification or willingness to obtain certification for Overhead Crane and Lift Truck operation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects or quality issues.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, standing, and repetitive motions.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, machining, or general labour roles is an asset.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
