Graphic Designer
Full-time, Continuing
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Graphic Designer delivers creative, on-brand solutions across print and digital platforms in support of The King’s University’s mission and its recruitment, fundraising, and brand-
advancement objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for design, can adapt well to a fast-paced environment, and will demonstrate an ability to create thoughtful and engaging designs while adhering to brand guidelines and working collaboratively with others.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Produces compelling visual designs for publications, advertisements, signage, and event collateral.
- Creates digital assets: social media graphics, web assets, landing page visuals, and simple
motion/animated assets.
- Prepares print/production-ready files and manages vendor relationships. Coordinates specs,
timelines, and cost estimates.
- Shoots and edits photography for marketing and communications needs; handles post-production,
organizes and maintains photography libraries and usage rights.
- Applies and maintains brand standards; develops and updates templates and style guides.
- Develops web design solutions in concordance with UI/UX best practices.
- Builds and maintains a centralized asset library (logos, fonts, templates, icons, motion files).
- Provides design guidance and basic training to staff on using templates and brand assets.
- Manages multiple projects: estimates timelines, prioritizes tasks, and meets deadlines across
competing requests.
- Monitors the latest trends in graphic design and post-secondary marketing to ensure fresh and
attractive creative.
- Works collaboratively in a team environment. Open to pitching ideas and receiving feedback.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma or degree in graphic design, visual arts, or related field.
- 4+ years of professional design experience.
- Portfolio demonstrating print, digital, promo-product work, and photography examples.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) or Affinity.
- Advanced knowledge of design, layout principles, typography, and colour.
- Experience preparing production-ready files and coordinating with vendors.
- Robust communication, collaboration, and time-management skills.
- Demonstrated photography skills: on-location shooting, portrait and event photography, and image
retouching/asset management.
- Basic understanding of UI/UX
- Motion design experience (Adobe After Effects, DaVinci Resolve), an asset.
- Commitment to and understanding of Christian post-secondary education.
- Professing, practicing Christian able to sign King’s Statement of Faith.
