Position Summary

Bursey Excavation and Development Limited is seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy and industrial equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in heavy and industrial equipment
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance
- Read and interpret schematics, manuals, and technical drawings
- Assemble and disassemble components for repair, maintenance, or upgrades
- Safely operate power tools and shop equipment
- Perform heavy lifting and handling of equipment components as required
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts usage
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of work
- Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures,



and regulatory requirements
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders regarding equipment condition and repair needs

Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 4 years of mechanical experience (required)
- Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or in a similar role
- Solid mechanical aptitude with experience working on industrial and heavy equipment
- Knowledge of electrical systems related to heavy machinery is considered an asset
- Welding experience is considered an asset but not required
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documentation
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to safety

Job Type: Full-time Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
