Nature of the Work & Responsibilities
NATURE OF THE WORK:
The job of Human Resources Advisor (Administration Officer) involves more specifically realizing day-to-day administrative programs and processes for one or more College services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the authority of the Associate Director of Human Resources (Benefits), the Human Resources Advisor works collaboratively, exercises a high degree of autonomy and confidentiality in all matters pertaining to the position. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, unionized setting, the main responsibilities of the position are:
- Oversee and process disability leaves for all 4 categories of employees
- Administration of the pension dossier and resource person for all categories of employees regarding pension related matters (e.g. retirements, buybacks, etc.);
- Responsible for processing CNESST cases (accidents, preventative leaves, etc.);
- Responsible for Support Staff, Professionals and Management group insurance dossier: process enrolments, terminations, leaves, modifications, prepare invoices, etc.
- In collaboration with management, reviews accommodation requests from employees and provides recommendations;
- Oversee employee Banks, Vacation planners, etc. in collaboration with Administration Technicians;
- Provide employees with guidance and information regarding benefits associated with specific leaves
- Responsible for preparing and analyzing Human Resources related reports as required
- All other related duties.
Qualifications & Conditions
QUALIFICATIONS:
An undergraduate degree in an appropriate field of specialization, particularly administration (Human Resources).
CONDITIONS:
- 5 years’ experience as a Human Resource Generalist;
- Advanced Customer Service skills
- Proven ability to work independently with strong time management skills and within a multi-disciplinary team;
- Knowledge of public sector payroll and pension plan procedures an asset;
- Experience in unionized environment an asset
- Advanced oral and written communication skills in English (testing may be required);
- Intermediate oral and written communication skills in French (testing may be required);
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills and familiarity with HRIS software (testing may be required).
