HVAC Operations Manager

Salary: $100,000–$120,000 per year

Aeolus Staffing Solutions is recruiting an experienced HVAC Operations Manager on behalf of a well-established mechanical services organization in Greater Sudbury.

This leadership position will oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy HVAC division supporting commercial, industrial and mining clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for field operations, workforce planning, project execution, client relationships, safety, financial performance and the continued growth of the division.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead daily HVAC service, maintenance, replacement and construction operations
- Manage technicians, installers, apprentices and administrative support personnel
- Coordinate labour, vehicles, tools, equipment and materials across multiple projects
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, job costs, margins and operational performance
- Identify project risks, scheduling conflicts and operational bottlenecks
- Support estimating, pricing, bid reviews and HVAC project negotiations
- Review and approve timesheets, work orders, purchase orders, change orders and invoicing documentation
- Maintain strong relationships with commercial, industrial and mining clients
- Support workforce hiring, onboarding, training, coaching and performance management
- Ensure compliance with applicable mechanical codes, TSSA requirements, OHSA, WSIB, ESA and company safety policies
- Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks and incident investigations when required
- Develop and improve operational procedures, reporting systems and field workflows
- Support forecasting, annual budgeting and resource planning




- Identify business-development opportunities and help grow the HVAC division

Qualifications

- Approximately 7–10 years of progressive experience in the HVAC industry
- At least 3 years of leadership, supervisory or operational management experience
- Strong knowledge of commercial and industrial HVAC systems, service operations and installation practices
- Demonstrated experience managing field employees, project schedules and operational resources
- Experience with estimating, job costing, budgeting, margin analysis and change orders
- Strong understanding of workplace safety requirements and applicable mechanical regulations
- Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving and client-management skills
- Diploma, certification or equivalent experience in HVAC, Mechanical Technology, Construction Management or a related discipline
- Valid Ontario G-class driver’s licence
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and relevant HVAC or field-service management systems

Strong Assets

- G1 Gas Technician licence
- 313A or 313D Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic licence
- Experience supporting mining or heavy-industrial clients
- Previous responsibility for growing or managing an HVAC service division
