WorkSafeBC is looking for an IndigenousCultural Navigator and Engagement Specialist to join our IndigenousRelations team. In this role,you’ll work with Indigenous workers, employers, service providers, andcommunities to help navigate WorkSafeBC’s systems, including Claims,Prevention, and Assessments. You’ll support improvements to how services areexperienced by Indigenous clients, helping ensure they are accessible,responsive, and culturally respectful. Reporting tothe Manager, Indigenous Relations, you’ll work as part of acollaborative and specialized Indigenous Relations team and partner across theorganization to support meaningful engagement and service improvements. Yourwork will contribute to identifying and addressing barriers, strengtheningrelationships, and supporting WorkSafeBC’s ongoing commitment toreconciliation. This rolecalls for cultural humility, thoughtful relationship-building, and the abilityto work with care and respect in complex and sensitive environments. What you'll do - Build and sustainrespectful, reciprocal relationships with Indigenous workers, employers,service providers, and communities, supporting meaningful engagement and trust.

- SupportIndigenous clients in navigating WorkSafeBC systems (Claims, Prevention, andAssessments), ensuring their experience is clear, coordinated, and culturallyrespectful.




- Collaborateacross internal teams to support Indigenous clients through complex orsensitive situations, helping ensure timely, responsive, and appropriateservice.
- Identify barriersand service gaps impacting Indigenous clients and contribute to solutions thatimprove access, inclusion, and overall service experience.
- Provide guidanceto internal staff on culturally respectful approaches when working withIndigenous clients and communities, supporting greater awareness andconsistency across the organization.
- Lead or supportIndigenous engagement initiatives and projects, including planning,coordination with partners, and contributing to ongoing improvement of programsand services.

- Take initiative toidentify opportunities to improve services and experiences for Indigenousclients. Your background andexperience - A degree in a related field.
- A minimum of 6years of experience in Indigenous relations, consulting, prevention, ordisability management.
- Demonstrates adeep understanding of Indigenous issues and an appreciation of the complexityand diversity of Indigenous Peoples and communities across BC.




- Preference will be given to candidates who self-identify as Indigenous and/or have lived experience within Indigenous communities, in alignment with our commitment to equity and transparency.
