Role Description The Lighting Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Richmond Hill, ON. This role focuses on guiding customers and partners in selecting appropriate lighting solutions, including fixtures, controls, and shading products, that meet aesthetic, functional, and budget requirements.

The Lighting

Specialist will prepare and review lighting layouts, provide technical product information, and support the sales team with quotations, project proposals, and product demonstrations. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with designers, contractors, and internal teams,



staying current with emerging lighting technologies, and ensuring a positive, informative customer experience. The role may also involve participation in training sessions, showroom or trade event support, and feedback on product improvements.

Qualifications

- Solid knowledge of lighting design, lighting principles, and application of lighting solutions in residential and commercial spaces.
- Experience with lighting control systems and shading solutions, including integration and basic troubleshooting.
- Proven sales and customer service skills, with the ability to understand client needs and recommend tailored solutions.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and lighting layouts; basic understanding of electrical or architectural concepts is an asset.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with comfort interacting with designers, contractors, and end customers.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency with common office software; familiarity with lighting design software or CAD tools is an advantage.
- Previous experience in lighting, interior design, electrical distribution, or a related industry is preferred.
