Instrumentation and Control Engineer

TENG Inc. is a quick-growing, medium-size engineering consultant that provides engineering and project management services to multiple industry sectors. We have an immediate need for an Instrumentation and Control Engineer to work with our project team and support our clients.

In this role, the successful candidate will help maintain a reputation for project quality through all phases of a project by leading instrumentation and control system project development, detailed design and field execution.

The successful candidate must have a strong, hands-on technical knowledge based on a degree in Instrumentation, Controls and/or Electrical Engineering and design, augmented by a minimum of ten years of experience in the relevant industries.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

- Interface with a project team or directly with the client to develop functional requirements and assess required project deliverables.
- Responsible for identifying/defining the scope of work, budget and schedule and working with a team to deliver on scope/schedule/budget.
- Prepare or supervise the preparation of I&C; design deliverables, including datasheets, Process Control Narratives, C&E; Diagrams, P&IDs;, plot plans, control schematics, and Engineering/ Construction Work Packages (incl. all installation details - control panel design, cable/conduit/tray routing, hook-up & termination details, etc.)
- Conduct detailed reviews and authenticate deliverables produced by team members.
- Provide guidance, supervision, and mentorship to intermediate and junior engineers or designers within a project team.
- Participate and lead in project meetings between engineering, project management, operations, and clients.
- Other duties as assigned

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS





- P. Eng designation in Ontario or Alberta. (base location preferred in Edmonton)
- 10+ years of experience in I&C; engineering in heavy industry within an EPC or EPCM environment.
- Experience in Oil and Gas, Refining and/or Chemical facilities and a strong understanding of working in Hazardous Locations.
- Experience managing small teams of engineers/designers/drafters.
- Relevant experience in developing and executing/commissioning instrumentation and industrial control systems.
- Detail-oriented, with experience and capabilities to thoroughly check I&C; deliverables.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills in English
