IAdelantar Consulting is based in Edmonton and provides civil-environmental engineering and consulting services principally in the field of industrial waste management. Services provided include facility siting, containment design and construction management, and regulatory liaison.

About the Role:

Adelantar is looking for an intermediate or senior civil design draftsperson to join our small collaborative group for an in-office role. You have an affinity for technology, innovation and a strong spatial understanding that lends itself to the engineering field.

The work will focus on civil-related design and drafting, including earthworks / geometric design, containment / lining configurations, surface drainage, and on-site haul roads. Core to the role is Civil 3D modelling skills and AutoCAD drafting, which are an essential part of our workflows.

Your role will include:

- planning for drafting work, modeling, preparation of figures and engineering drawings,



and incorporation of changes to the design and drawing sets
- support during construction such as checking surfaces, quantities, and preparation of as-built drawings during construction
- development of and updates to Cell Development Plans, Fill Plans, as well as volumetric calculations centered around earthworks, stockpiles, and waste
- contribution to internal systems and drafting standards and adoption of client drafting standards as needed
- engagement with the team on an ongoing basis, including providing and receiving feedback

Qualifications: Required Qualifications

- demonstrated level of proficiency through education (e.g. diploma in civil engineering, or engineering design and drafting) and related experience
- 10-15+ years experience that includes at least 5+ years AutoCAD and Civil 3D drafting experience, including complex design drafting and modeling assignments
- strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication skills
- ability to work well with a team, problem solve, and meet deadlines

Desirable Skills

- experience with the use of mapping software (i.e.

Google

Earth, QGIS, Global Mapper, etc.) would be an asset
- familiarity with drones, UAV data sets, LiDAR, DEMs
- knowledge of Coordinate Systems and Projections
- experience with drone videography and visualization software
