Job Summary The Inventory Clerk is responsible for processing incoming vehicles and their components for resale, ensuring every part is accurately documented, tagged, and organized in inventory management systems. This role involves photographing vehicles, inspecting and cataloging parts, inventorying them in Checkmate and PartsMate (or equivalent), printing and applying part tags, stocking shelves, and assisting customers with vehicle/part inquiries in the yard or showroom.

Key Responsibilities

- Photograph incoming vehicles from multiple angles for listing and reference purposes
- Inspect vehicles and identify all sellable/usable parts
- Enter and update part records in Checkmate and PartsMate systems, linking parts to the correct source vehicle (VIN, stock number, etc.)
- Inventory loose/pulled parts accurately, including condition notes and part numbers
- Print part tags/labels and attach them correctly to each part
- Organize and place tagged parts on designated shelves or storage areas following yard layout standards
- Perform regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical inventory and system records
- Assist walk-in or phone customers by locating vehicles/parts, answering availability questions,



and guiding them through the yard or lot
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe inventory/storage area
- Report damaged, missing, or mismatched inventory to supervisor
- Collaborate with sales and dismantling staff to ensure timely part processing

Experience & Qualifications

- Prior experience in auto parts, salvage yard, dismantling, or automotive inventory preferred
- Familiarity with inventory software (Checkmate, PartsMate, or similar systems) is a plus; willingness to learn required
- Basic knowledge of automotive parts, terminology, and vehicle systems
- Comfortable using digital cameras/tablets for documentation
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to lift/move parts (specify weight limit, e.g., up to 50 lbs)
- Basic computer literacy (data entry, label printing)
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work outdoors/in a yard workplace as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent; forklift or vehicle-moving experience is a bonus

Pay: From $16.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
