Position Description
As an IT Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of technology projects across engineering, architecture, product, and business teams. You will ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives while proactively managing risks, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations.
In this role, you will partner closely with technical and business leaders to coordinate project activities, facilitate communication, and drive execution throughout the project lifecycle. You will play a key role in establishing project discipline, enabling effective collaboration, and ensuring successful delivery of technology solutions that support business priorities.
Locations: Halifax, Nova Scotia; Moncton, Current Brunswick; Stratford, Prince Edward Island In office requirement of 5 days per week
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Lead end to end planning and execution of technology projects, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Manage project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies, driving timely resolution and escalation when necessary.
- Coordinate project activities across engineering, architecture, product, operations, and business teams.
- Facilitate project governance routines, including status reporting, steering committee updates, and stakeholder communications.
- Track project progress and key performance indicators, providing transparency into project health and delivery outcomes.
- Support release planning, testing readiness, implementation activities, and post deployment reviews.
- Ensure project artifacts, documentation, and reporting are maintained in project management tools such as Jira and Jira Align.
- Drive effective change management and stakeholder engagement to support project adoption and successful business outcomes.
- Promote project management, best practices and continuous improvement across delivery teams.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 8+ years of project management experience leading medium to large scale technology initiatives.
- Proven experience delivering complex IT projects involving multiple teams, stakeholders, and dependencies.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, software development lifecycle (SDLC), and Agile delivery practices.
- Experience managing technology projects across application development, infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, data, or platform initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Strong organizational and planning skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, including experience working with technical teams and business leaders.
- Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities with the ability to navigate ambiguity and changing priorities.
- Experience using project management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Jira Align, Confluence, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
- PMP, PMI ACP, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or related project management certifications are a plus.
- Financial services or insurance industry experience is preferred.
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case.
A reasonable estimate of the current range is $75,000 –$145,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
