One (1) Temporary Full time Journeyman Maintenance Worker position is available in the Building & Environmental Services Department. Hours of work will be in accordance with the Collective Agreement and operational requirements. The successful candidate may be required to work on all shifts as required and participate in an on-call rotation. Placement to commence as soon as possible or as can be arranged and ends upon the return of the full-time Maintenance I employee.

Key Qualifications

Education

- Post Secondary Certificate in related field, (Building Environmental Systems Operator, HVAC etc.), trade certification or combination education and experience.

Experience

- Minimum three (5) years of related maintenance experience.

- Experience in a health care, retirement home, or long-term care environment preferred.

- Demonstrated experience maintaining and repairing building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, and painting.

Key Responsibilities include:





- Performing skilled maintenance and repair work on building systems, equipment, and facilities.

- Conducting equipment testing and maintaining required documentation.

- Inspecting, testing, and maintaining life safety call systems.

- Monitoring elevator operations and coordinating service requirements with contracted vendors.

- Maintaining maintenance records, inspection logs, and testing documentation.

- Assisting with grounds maintenance, snow removal, and seasonal maintenance activities.

- Support compliance with regulatory requirements, Home policies, and emergency preparedness plans.

General Requirements The successful candidate must be able to independently perform the duties of the position and meet the physical demands of the role, including frequent walking, standing, bending, climbing, lifting, carrying, and working both indoors and outdoors.
