The Role

We’re looking for a hard-working, eager junior builder who wants to learn the craft of custom fabrication from the ground up. You’ll start by supporting our senior builders — prepping materials, cutting, sanding, assembling, finishing, and keeping the shop running — and take on more responsibility as your skills grow.

This is hands-on work in a busy shop. Days are physical, deadlines are real, and no two projects look the same. If you like working with your hands, learn fast, and want to end each day having actually built something — this is the job.

Attitude matters more to us than experience. Reliability, curiosity, and a strong work ethic will take you further here than a résumé.

What You’ll Be Doing





● Assist senior builders and fabricators through all stages of custom builds — from material prep to final assembly and finishing

● Cut, sand, drill, assemble, patch, and finish components to the standards you’re shown

● Learn to safely operate shop tools and equipment, including table saws, routers, sanders, drills, and hand tools

● Work with a wide variety of materials: plywood, hardwoods, MDF, particle board, metals, acrylics, foam, laminates, and specialty finishes

● Help move, load, and stage materials and finished assemblies around the shop

● Keep the shop clean, organized, and safe — sweeping, tool care, waste management, and material storage are part of everyone’s job here

● Follow directions carefully, ask questions when something isn’t clear, and flag problems early

● Take feedback well and apply it — the goal is that you don’t need to be told the same thing twice

● Assist with on-site installation, setup, and teardown of completed builds as required

● Communicate clearly in written and verbal English with builders, project managers, and shop staff

What We’re Looking For

● Genuine eagerness to learn — curious about how things are made, and motivated to build real skills in a trade

● A strong work ethic — you show up on time, keep moving, and don’t wait to be told what to do next

● Reliability — consistent attendance and a dependable presence the team can count on

● Comfortable with physical work: on your feet all day, lifting and moving materials, working in an active shop setting

● Safety-minded — willing to follow shop safety procedures without shortcuts

● Able to take direction and constructive feedback from senior builders





● Basic comfort with hand tools, or clear enthusiasm to learn them properly

● Attention to detail and pride in doing work well, not just quickly

● Team-oriented, respectful, and easy to work alongside in a small, collaborative shop

● Fluent in both written and verbal English

● Legally eligible to work in Canada

Assets (Not Required)

None of the following are necessary — but they’ll help you stand out:

● High school shop classes, trade school, pre-apprenticeship, or carpentry/millwork coursework

● Any hands-on building experience: woodworking, props, sets, framing, renovations, metalwork, or personal projects

● Exposure to film or television set construction, event build, tradeshow, or display fabrication

● Interest in CNC routing, laser cutting, or other digital fabrication tools

● Forklift certification, WHMIS, working at heights, or other safety tickets

● Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation

Where This Role Can Go

This is a starting point, not a dead end. Junior builders who show initiative and steady skill growth move up — taking on their own components, then full builds, and eventually the complex, one-of-a-kind work our senior Creative Builders are known for. How rapid that happens is largely up to you.
