We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Structural Cabling Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will assist in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of structured cabling systems that support computer networking, telecommunication, and electrical infrastructure. Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation and termination of Ethernet cables, fiber optics, and other low voltage wiring in commercial and industrial environments
- Support the setup and configuration of Cisco routers, switches, and telecommunication equipment to ensure seamless network connectivity
- Use hand tools such as crimpers, wire strippers, drills, and screwdrivers to complete cabling tasks accurately and efficiently
- Perform routine inspections of cable pathways, conduits, and cable trays to ensure compliance with safety standards and project specifications
- Aid in troubleshooting network issues by testing cables, verifying connections, and identifying faults within telecommunication systems
- Collaborate with senior technicians to install telephony systems and electrical components as needed for project completion
- Maintain detailed documentation of cabling layouts, test results, and work performed for client records and future reference
Skills
- Basic understanding of Ethernet networking principles and computer networking concepts
- Mechanical knowledge related to cable management systems, conduit installation, and hardware mounting
- Proficiency with hand tools used in cabling and electrical work
- Familiarity with telecommunication systems including telephony infrastructure
- Knowledge of low voltage wiring standards and safety protocols
- Experience working with Cisco routers or similar networking equipment is a plus
- Electrical experience or background is highly desirable for understanding power distribution within systems
