Position Summary and Responsibilities Reporting to the Supervisor, Roads/Traffic, this role is responsible to carry out duties related to roads maintenance including winter Road Patrol, operation of snowplough with wing for snow removal operations, sidewalk snowplough/sanders, dump trucks, front end loader or other hand and power equipment. Maintenance of municipal roads including preparing roads for resurfacing, performing hot and cold asphalt patching, litter and debris pick-up, street sweeping, snow clearing/hauling /removal and winter sanding operations.

Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent with demonstrated experience in roads patrol/maintenance, road construction and/or repair work related to roads, roads allowances, sewers, signs, catch basins, ditches, sidewalks, curbs, asphalt repairs.





- Ability to deal courteously and effectively with staff and the general public and work well under direction and also take initiative to respond appropriately to situations.
- You have a strong comprehension of applicable Health and Safety regulations and principles, and practical knowledge of the protected operation of related equipment.
- Working knowledge of various road patrol software programs is considered a strong - asset for this position.
- Standby/on call is a mandatory requirement of this position and must be available to work days, evenings, nights and weekends including 24 hour on-call, with ten hour shifts as scheduled.
- This position also requires D a Class DZ licence in good standing. The successful candidate may be required to work overnight shifts from 11:00pm – 7:00am, Wednesday to Sunday seasonally, from November to April. Successful applicants to this position will be required to provide a Police Criminal Record Check, Driver’s Abstract and CVOR Abstract that is satisfactory to the Town prior to their start date at the applicants’ own cost.
