Creative Roots Landscaping
Kelowna
Job Title: Landscape Construction Apprentice
Location: Kelowna, BC
Job Type: Full-Time, Seasonal, Training in Jan/ Feb, Possible Winter Opportunities
Build a Trades Career in Landscaping — Not Just Another Construction Job
If you love working outdoors, building things that last, and stepping back at the end of the day to say “we crushed that,” Creative Roots might be your next home.
We’re a people-first, high-performance landscaping company that designs and builds some of the Okanagan’s most impressive custom residential landscapes. We don’t cut corners, and we don’t hire people who just want to “get through the season.”
We hire builders, problem-solvers, and go-getters who want a real career path in the trades — not a dead-end labour job.
We’re hiring Landscape Construction Apprentices to join our team for the 2026 season and beyond.
Please note: We are nearing the end of the construction season. Hours are typically reduced beginning in late December or January, depending on weather and ground conditions. January and February are generally focused on training and development, with the possibility of snow removal and other winter work opportunities. Candidates must be comfortable with a reduction in hours in January and February.
This Role Is Perfect for You If…
- You have 2+ seasons of landscaping or construction experience
- You enjoy physical, hands-on work and learning new skills
- You take pride in craftsmanship and doing things properly
- You want a future in landscaping, construction, or the skilled trades
- You like being part of a tight crew that works hard and has each other’s backs
- You value structure, mentorship, and clear expectations
- You want a company that invests in your growth through a Personal Development Plan (your individualized training path)
If you’re the type who enjoys challenging builds, problem-solving on site, and learning how things are actually done — you’ll fit right in. This Role Is Not for You If…
- You’re just looking for a temporary job
- You don’t enjoy physical work or working outdoors
- You struggle with punctuality or accountability
- You bring ego, drama, or shortcuts onto job sites
- You’re not open to feedback, learning, or coaching
What You’ll Do As a Landscape Construction Apprentice, you’ll support our construction crews on high-end custom residential projects, including:
- Site prep, layout, and excavation
- Installing paving stone, natural stone,
retaining walls, and water features
- Building decks, pergolas, fences, and custom wood/metal structures
- Grading, soil placement, planting, sod installation
- Drainage, irrigation, and landscape lighting systems
- Operating mini-excavators, compactors, and loaders
- Working on complex, detail-driven projects where quality matters
This is hands-on construction work — physical, technical, and incredibly rewarding. What Success Looks Like in 6–12 Months
- You’ve mastered construction fundamentals and site safety
- You’re a reliable, trusted crew member
- You consistently “work like the client is watching”
- You’re progressing through your Personal Development Plan
- You’re taking on more responsibility and learning leadership skills
- You’re on track for Lead Hand or Foreman if that’s your goal
