Lead ERP Developer

Location: Markham, ON

Employment Type: Full-Time

Work Arrangement: In-Office - 4 days

Salary: $135,000 per year

Position Summary

As the Lead ERP Developer , you will lead and grow the JDE development function within the technology team, reporting to the Senior Director of Enterprise Applications.

In this role, you will manage a team of contract developers, with the opportunity to build out an in-house development team as the function grows. You will work closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and implement high-quality JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications and integrations that support business objectives.

You will be both hands-on and a people leader — actively developing, testing, and supporting JDE solutions while guiding, mentoring, and managing developers on your team.

This dual technical and leadership position is ideal for an experienced Lead ERP Developer with strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of contract JDE developers, with responsibility for building out an in-house team as the function grows, including work assignment and performance management.
- Balance hands-on development with team oversight, including reviewing code, designs, and technical documentation to ensure quality and consistency.
- Develop and maintain functional and technical documentation, including requirements, feasibility studies, designs, and specifications.
- Implement and support systems that meet organizational and departmental requirements.
- Translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions, both personally and through the development team.
- Analyze and code custom reports, UBEs, and programs to extend JDE functionality.
- Prioritize and coordinate project workload and development schedules in alignment with business priorities.




- Log and manage escalations through the Oracle JDE Help Desk as required.
- Assist with the integration of JDE with packaged and custom applications.
- Manage vendor relationships supporting CNC-related activities, ensuring deliverables, service levels, and support requirements are met.

Position Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline; a minimum 2–3 year post-secondary program.
- 15+ years of experience working as a JD Edwards Developer with EnterpriseOne 9.1 or newer.
- 3+ years of experience managing or leading a team of developers, including work assignment, mentoring, and performance management.
- Hands-on experience with JDE Orchestrator Studio, BSSV , and related integration tools.
- Expert-level knowledge of SQL/SEQUEL for complex query development, data analysis, and issue resolution.
- Strong knowledge of JDE Financials , including GL, AP, and AR.
- Strong knowledge of JDE Distribution , including Sales and Purchasing modules.
- In-depth understanding of JDE table structures and data interrelationships.
- Familiarity with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and change-management best practices.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to both business and IT stakeholders.
- Experience managing vendor relationships, including contract oversight, service-level agreements, and vendor performance.
- Creative, analytical, and self-motivated, with a positive attitude toward continuous learning and improvement.

- Ability to explain complex technical concepts in easy, user-friendly language.
