Line Cook / Kitchen Team Member – Mi Amor Taqueria

Location: 111 Jones St, Oakville, ON

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: 30.0 – 40.0 hours per week (Full availability ideally Wednesday to Sunday, between 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM)

About Us

Mi Amor Taqueria is an authentic Mexican taco shop serving our community with fresh ingredients and vibrant street-food flavors. Our kitchen focuses on mastering traditional recipes, house-made salsas, slow-cooked proteins, and hot street specials. We are looking for an organized, reliable, and hardworking full-time Line Cook to bring efficiency, care, and consistency to our taco line and prep stations.

Responsibilities

- Prepare proteins and menu items to recipe standards, including Quesabirria, Barbacoa, Carnitas, Carne Asada, and morning desayuno specials.
- Set up, stock, and maintain hot and cold line stations (proteins, diced onions, cilantro, salsas, cheeses) for smooth daily service.
- Assemble orders quickly and accurately according to ticket specifications while minimizing ticket times.
- Execute daily kitchen opening and closing procedures, including scraping and detailing the flat-top grill,



equipment sanitization, and restocking.
- Follow strict food safety standards, including temperature logging, proper labeling/dating, and FIFO rotation across reach-ins and walk-in coolers.
- Keep kitchen workspaces, prep surfaces, cutting boards, and line equipment clean and organized throughout service.
- Communicate effectively with front-of-house team members to ensure smooth service and fast order flow.

Qualifications

- Proven experience as a line cook, prep cook, or kitchen team member in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Food Handler certification is strongly preferred.
- Strong punctuality, reliability, and work ethic.
- Highly organized with sharp attention to recipe execution, food quality, and clean work practices.
- Willingness to learn our menu items, station setups, and daily prep routines.
- Positive attitude with a collaborative, team-first approach.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
