Logging Truck Driver

JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Logging Truck Driver to join our forestry and logistics operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient hauling of logs to designated locations while complying with all commercial driving regulations. This role requires strong time-management skills, a commitment to safety, and experience operating logging or heavy-haul equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Operate logging trucks in compliance with provincial motor vehicle legislation and company safety policies

· Safely haul logs to mills, log decks, and designated drop locations

· Perform documented pre-trip and post-trip inspections

· Load, secure, and transport log loads according to industry standards

· Maintain accurate hours-of-service logbooks, mileage, and fuel records

· Communicate with dispatch regarding schedules, road conditions, and delays

· Report mechanical issues, incidents, or safety concerns promptly





QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

· Valid Class 1 Driver’s Licence

· Proven experience in log hauling, forestry trucking, or commercial driving

· Strong knowledge of log handling, load securement, and safety regulations

· Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks

· Excellent time-management and communication skills

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Willingness to work extended hours and flexible schedules

COMPENSATION

28% of truck gross plus 4% vacation pay

EMPLOYMENT TYPE
