We are a custom machine shop specializing in OEM replacement, emergency repair, and design/build parts and components. We are currently seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, eager to learn candidate who thrives in a fast-paced environment to join our growing team. We service all industries including food, pharmaceutical, automotive, mining, institutional, etc. with quality being of the utmost importance.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated 2nd or 3rd Year Machinist Apprentice ready to take their skills to the next level. In this role, you will transition away from basic shop duties and dive deeper into complex setups, part adjustments, and independent machine operation. You will work alongside experienced Red Seal / Journeyperson Machinists who are eager to teach, troubleshoot, and support your technical development.

Key Responsibilities

- Setup & Operation: Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes, loading fixtures, and making required tool offsets to maintain part quality.
- Blueprint Reading & GD&T;: Interpret engineering drawings, process sheets, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T;) specifications.
- Quality Inspection: Perform first-off and in-process inspections using precision tools including micrometers, vernier calipers, height gauges, and bore gauges to maintain tolerances down to [e.g.,



+/- 0.001”].
- Manual Machining: Safely operate conventional shop machinery (surface grinders, drill presses, manual lathes/mills) for fixture building or secondary operations.
- Programming: Able to draw or work with a solid model and program tool paths through Mastercam completing basic profiles for parts ensuring dimensions are accurate and utilizing basic GD&T;
- Shop Safety: Maintain a clean, organized workstation and adhere strictly to all safety policies, including proper PPE use and machine guarding protocols.

What We Are Looking For

- Apprenticeship Status: Must be currently registered as an Apprentice Machinist (2nd or 3rd year) with your regional governing body - Skilled Trades Ontario
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of practical experience working inside a production or custom machine shop environment.
- Tooling: Possession of basic personal precision measuring instruments and tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators) appropriate for a second-year apprentice.
- Technical Aptitude: Strong mathematical skills, spatial reasoning, and mechanical problem-solving abilities.
- Soft Skills: Punctual, reliable, and eager to learn. You accept constructive feedback well and have a strong commitment to workshop safety.
