POSITION OVERVIEW: The Communications & Marketing Coordinator supports the delivery of the organization's marketing and communications initiatives. The role is responsible for executing digital marketing activities, maintaining digital communication channels, creating content, coordinating promotional activities, and supporting member engagement efforts.

Working closely with the Marketing & Communications Manager and teams across the organization, the Coordinator helps bring marketing and communications plans to life through high-quality content, timely execution, and day-to-day management of digital platforms.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Content Creation & Digital Communications

- Create, edit, and publish engaging content across social media, websites, email campaigns, and promotional materials.
- Develop graphics, short-form videos, and other digital assets that support organizational initiatives.
- Repurpose content from events, webinars, member stories, and research into multiple formats

2. Website, Email & Social Media Management

- Maintain and update website content, landing pages, and member resources.
- Coordinate email campaigns, newsletters, and targeted member communications.
- Manage social media channels, monitor engagement, and support digital advertising activities.

3. Marketing Campaigns & Promotion

- Support the implementation of marketing campaigns, communication plans, and content calendars.




- Help promote conferences, professional development programs, membership initiatives, and other organizational activities.
- Assist with the production of PeopleTalk Magazine, PeopleTalk Online, and other publications.

4. Coordination & Collaboration

- Coordinate content and marketing assets with internal stakeholders, volunteers, contributors, vendors, and partners.
- Track campaign performance and support reporting and continuous improvement efforts.
- Ensure all communications align with organizational brand standards and messaging.

5. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

- Work collaboratively with staff across departments to support communication and promotional needs.
- Ensure communications align with organizational brand standards, values, and messaging.
- Stay informed of trends and best practices in digital communications and member engagement.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and audience engagement.

QUALIFICATIONS & PREFERRED SKILLS: 1. Education & Experience

- Diploma or degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in marketing, communications, digital marketing, content creation, or a related role.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- Experience managing websites, email marketing platforms, and social media channels.
- Experience creating content for multiple audiences and communication channels.
- Experience in a nonprofit, association, or member-based organization is an asset.

- WordPress or other website content management systems
- Canva
- Email marketing platforms
- Social media management tools
- Basic graphic design and video editing software
- Google Analytics and social media analytics platforms
- Project management tools (e.g., Planner, Asana, ClickUp)
- Adobe Creative Cloud applications
- Microsoft Office Suite




- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong organizational and project coordination abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Creative mindset with a passion for storytelling and audience engagement.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external partners.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable learning new technologies and digital platforms.

WHAT WE OFFER:
- Salary Range: $58,000 - $64,000 (commensurate with experience). CPHR BC & Yukon is a Living Wage Certified employer and is committed to pay equity and fair compensation practices.
