Nutters Everyday Naturals
Calgary
We're looking for an eager, hands-on marketer who can take ownership, think creatively and get things done.
This isn't necessarily an entry-level role, but we also aren’t a traditional corporate marketing environment. We're a small, crafty team that builds things together, pivots quickly and learns as we go. You'll have the direction and support of a Marketing Manager, but you'll also be trusted to use your experience and judgment to figure out how to get things done. (You don't need to have every answer. You do need to be inclined to figure out how to find one.)
You'll own key pieces of Nutters Everyday Naturals' digital and community marketing - from social storytelling and digital advertising to vendor programs and a key role in executing our annual conference & tradeshow.
We're looking for someone who understands that great marketing isn't just getting a post onto Instagram or setting up an ad. It's about how well you know your audience, finding the story and creating something that makes people want to stop, think, learn or engage.
Calgary-based candidates preferred, and open to interested parties based in these specific Alberta cities where a Nutters Everyday Naturals store exists: Red Deer, Medicine Hat or Lethbridge.
KEY FOCUS AREAS
- Develop content strategies and social content that translate Nutters' brand, products, expertise and community into compelling stories that resonate with our audience.
- Manage digital advertising campaigns from planning and creative development through execution, monitoring, optimization and reporting, with a focus on growing awareness and meaningful engagement.
- Execute key vendor marketing programs, coordinating with vendors to deliver programmed campaigns accurately, on schedule and in alignment with both vendor objectives and Nutters' broader marketing goals.
- Lead the planning and execution of Nutters' annual conference and tradeshow, along with other key events, campaigns and community initiatives throughout the year.
- Build meaningful relationships with our digital community, using audience insights, engagement and performance data,
along with emerging trends, to identify opportunities, improve our marketing and determine what's worth testing for Nutters.
- Collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders, including vendors, stores, internal teams and influencers, to gather stories, ideas and expertise and turn them into compelling marketing content.
- Look for opportunities to improve Nutters' marketing, bringing forward new ideas, testing new approaches and finding practical ways to improve our campaigns, content and customer engagement.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- 3 years of relevant professional experience, ideally spanning digital marketing, social media, content and campaign execution.
- Demonstrated experience taking ownership of marketing projects from idea through execution and measurement.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret marketing data, identify insights and make practical recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to translate a brand strategy into compelling, channel-appropriate content, rather than simply creating individual posts.
- Strong copywriting and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for different audiences, platforms and purposes.
- Experience with digital advertising platforms, including campaign setup, audience targeting, creative, budgets, performance monitoring and optimization.
- Comfortable using analytics and performance data to evaluate marketing activity, identify insights and make informed recommendations.
- In-depth experience with Facebook and Instagram.
- Experience with digital marketing tools such as GA4 and Meta Ads Manager.
- Comfortable with basic web maintenance using Squarespace.
- Familiarity with email marketing platforms, such as Mailchimp, is an asset.
- Experience in retail,
consumer brands, health/wellness, franchise marketing or community-based businesses is an asset.
- Robust organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently while building effective working relationships across a wide variety of stakeholders, including franchise owners, vendors, stores and internal teams.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating marketing, social media, content or digital work.
EDUCATION
- Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, business or a related field.
