About the SSO For nearly five decades, the Sudbury Symphony Orchestra (SSO) has been a cornerstone of Greater Sudbury’s cultural landscape, inspiring audiences with dynamic performances and fostering a deep appreciation for orchestral music. As a regional semi-professional orchestra, the SSO is dedicated to enriching the community through accessible, high-quality musical experiences.

The SSO presents over 16 concerts annually and operates the Sudbury Symphony Music Conservatory, offering lessons, classes, and outreach programs. Under the leadership of Artistic Director William Rowson, the SSO is entering an exciting new chapter, including its landmark 50th Anniversary Season.

Position Overview The Sudbury Symphony Orchestra (SSO) is seeking an organized and community-minded Marketing & Systems Coordinator to support the organization’s operations and growth through our landmark 50th Anniversary Season and beyond.

This is an exciting opportunity for an emerging arts administrator to gain hands-on experience in a small and dynamic team as we assess and evolve our systems while engaging with a growing number of Sudburians.

Reporting to the Executive Director (ED), the Marketing & Systems Coordinator supports concert and event logistics, marketing initiatives, Education and Community Engagement (E&CE;) activities, and the operations of the Sudbury Symphony Music Conservatory (SSMC).

The Coordinator works closely with the Operations Manager and collaborates with the Artistic Director (AD), SSO musicians, faculty, staff, volunteers, and community partners.

This role requires flexibility, including occasional evening and weekend availability for concerts, rehearsals, and special events.

Key ResponsibilitiesConcerts, Events & Administration

- Support concert, rehearsal,



and event logistics
- Coordinate special 50th Anniversary initiatives and community projects
- Provide general administrative and organizational support
- Coordinate community engagement and outreach activities

Marketing & Patron Services
- Assist with social media, newsletters, website updates, and promotional materials
- Help create and gather content for marketing campaigns and educational initiatives
- Provide box office and customer service support, including ticket sales and patron communications using AudienceView
- Document success stories, testimonials and key metrics

Education & Conservatory
- Support SSO Education and Community Engagement activities and the Sudbury Symphony Music Conservatory (SSMC)
- Coordinate musician and faculty scheduling for educational programs
- Assist with student registrations and group class administration
- Communicate with students, teachers, families, and community participants

Qualifications
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office
- Interest in arts administration, nonprofit work, music, or arts education
- Experience with social media, marketing, or event coordination is an asset
- Experience with CRM or ticketing platforms such as AudienceView is an asset
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset

Pay: $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 per week
