Role Description This full-time, on-site Maternity Leave Manager (ECE) role is based in North Vancouver, BC. The Manager will oversee daily operations of the childcare center, including scheduling, staff support, compliance with licensing regulations, and ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for children. The role includes providing leadership to the educator team, modeling best practices in early childhood education, and maintaining the Reggio Emilia-inspired curriculum and learning environment.
The Manager will communicate regularly with families, handle administrative tasks such as documentation and reporting,
and collaborate with leadership to uphold Olive Grove’s standards of care.
Qualifications
- Formal early childhood education credentials (e.g., ECE certificate or diploma) and eligibility to work in regulated childcare settings in BC.
- Experience in early childhood education, including curriculum implementation and child-centered, play-based learning approaches.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience in a childcare or educational setting, including team coordination and performance support.
- Robust organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage schedules, documentation, and compliance with childcare licensing regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with children, families, and staff, and to handle sensitive information with professionalism.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive, safe, and nurturing environment that respects diverse backgrounds, abilities, and family structures.
- Knowledge of the Reggio Emilia philosophy or similar child-centered approaches is an asset.
- Current first aid/CPR certification and a clear background check, as required for childcare professionals.
