Trexo Robotics is enabling mobility by building powered wearable robots. Our first product is a robot for children with movement disorders such as Cerebral Palsy, and it allows kids to walk, in many cases, for the first time in their lives. The device is currently being used by hundreds of families and the best hospitals across North America.

About the Job
We currently have Trexos all over North America and as more and more devices are being used we need to strive to make sure they all work perfectly and reliably. We are looking for a Mechatronics Engineering intern to help with design, documentation and testing of existing of new products/features and improvements to existing products.
This position is in-person at our office in Mississauga (6705 Millcreek Dr.)
What you'll do
- Develop prototypes for new R&D; parts, fixtures, packaging and jigs.
- Update CAD drawings and BOMs
- Create and update Engineering Change Orders
- Researching and selecting off the shelf components
- Assist with designing and setting up experiments and tests.
- Troubleshoot product issues from returned devices (software, electrical and mechanical).
- Assist the manufacturing team with implementing new tools and processes.
- Assist with testing recent changes, and prototypes.
Required Skills
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with design of mechatronic systems.
- Experience creating drawings for machining and sheet metal fabrication.
- Previous experience with Solidworks, Onshape and 3D printing.
- Interest in exoskeletons.
Nice to Have
- Experience with designing injection molded parts.
- Experience with Python Scripts.
- Experience working with Linux.
- Hands on experience with soldering and crimping.
Additional information
This position is a 4-month work term from January 11, 2027, to April 30, 2027. We are also open to offering an 8-month or 12-month internship. If you are interested in a longer work term, please indicate this in your application.
