AM EYES is presently hiring a full time and part-time Medical Assistant for our Markham location.

The ideal candidate is energetic, and thrives in a fast paced environment. Given the high volume of Chinese patients, the ideal candidate is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English.

Responsibilities

- Checking patients in and out.
- Receiving calls and making calls to patients, hospitals, and external healthcare partners.
- Inventory management and supply management.
- Coordinating referrals from physicians and optometrists, and respond to referrals.
- Calling software vendors and Ministry of Health to resolve billing errors and remittance advice inquiries that may arise.
- Conducting a range of ocular diagnostic tests, including Zeiss Humphrey visual field, Zeiss Cirrus OCT, autorefraction, pachymetry, and iCare tonometry.
- Performing preliminary patient work-ups,



including taking detailed patient histories and measuring visual acuity.
- Assisting with patient care by administering eye drops as directed.
- Managing patient scheduling, communication, and referral coordination with external healthcare partners.
- Maintaining clinic efficiency through effective inventory and supply management, as well as digital and paper document organization.
- Serving as a key point of contact for resolving technical issues with software vendors and the Ministry of Health.
- Proficiently operating EMR systems (Oscar Pro EMR preferred).

Requirements:
- Clinic experience ideally in a vision care or medical clinic.
- Fluent in English. Fluency in Cantonese and Mandarin is preferred.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
