Role Description The Merchandise Team Leader is a full-time, on-site role based in Brentwood Bay, BC, responsible for overseeing daily merchandising operations on the sales floor. This role leads and supports team members in executing product placement, replenishment, and visual standards to ensure the store is well-presented and aligns with brand guidelines.

The Merchandise Team

Leader collaborates closely with store leadership to drive sales, optimize inventory flow, and elevate the customer experience through engaging, organized, and trend-right merchandise displays.



Day-to-day tasks include guiding associates during floor sets and promotions, monitoring inventory levels, supporting stockroom organization, and responding to customer needs with a service-focused approach. This role also involves coaching team members, reinforcing operational procedures, and contributing to a positive, inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

- Strong customer-facing skills, including Customer Service and Customer Experience, with a focus on creating an engaging, inclusive store environment.
- Demonstrated Team Leadership capabilities, including coaching, motivating, and coordinating associates to achieve merchandising and sales goals.
- Experience in Inventory Management and Retail operations, including stock replenishment, product organization, and supporting visual merchandising standards.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and follow direction from store leadership.
- Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced retail setting, including evening, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed.
- Solid attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills to manage multiple priorities on the sales floor.
- Previous retail or merchandising experience preferred; supervisory or key holder experience is an asset.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; willingness to learn and grow within AEO’s brand family is highly valued.
