PSL Patrick Sprack Limited was formed in 2006 as a Preventative Maintenance Oriented HVAC company. Since this time, we have become a reputable and leading Northern Ontario HVAC-R contractor to the mines, industrial sites as well as commercial properties.

PSL Patrick Sprack Limited provides a variety of heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, petroleum, propane, and refrigeration services ranging from planned maintenance (both preventative and full coverage), inspections and diagnostic services as well as repairs, retrofits and new installations for commercial and industrial mechanical systems.

Position Summary The Mine Ventilation Services Manager is responsible for the strategic growth, operational leadership, and financial performance of PSL's Mine Ventilation division. This role combines technical mine ventilation expertise with business development, project oversight, client relationship management, and financial accountability.

The successful candidate will work closely with mining clients to identify ventilation challenges and opportunities while leading ventilation projects, managing budgets, controlling costs, and supporting the continued growth of PSL's specialized mine ventilation services.

This position serves as the primary technical and commercial resource for mine ventilation projects and is responsible for developing long-term client partnerships,



expanding market presence, and ensuring the successful execution of ventilation-related services across Northern Ontario.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Client Relations

- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective mining clients.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within underground mining operations.
- Develop proposals, quotations, and service agreements.
- Participate in client meetings, site visits, and industry events.
- Support strategic growth initiatives and market expansion opportunities.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop annual sales and business development strategies.
- Maintain awareness of upcoming mining projects and ventilation opportunities.

Financial Management & Cost Control

- Develop and manage divisional budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor project profitability and overall department financial performance.
- Track labour, equipment, subcontractor, and material costs.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiencies and margins.
- Develop business cases for new services, equipment, and capital investments.
- Ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets and timelines.

Operations & Project Oversight

- Oversee mine ventilation projects from planning through completion.
- Coordinate resources, personnel, subcontractors, and equipment.
- Ensure project deliverables meet client requirements and company standards.




- Review project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
- Monitor KPIs related to safety, productivity, quality, and profitability.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the division.

Mine Ventilation Technical Services

- Provide technical expertise related to mine ventilation systems and airflow management.
- Review ventilation plans, studies, surveys, and performance reports.
- Support ventilation assessments and system optimization projects.
- Evaluate ventilation requirements for mine expansions and operational changes.
- Utilize ventilation modeling software and data analysis to support client solutions.
- Develop recommendations that improve safety, efficiency, and operational performance.

Leadership & Team Development

- Lead, mentor, and develop technical and operational personnel.
- Participate in workforce planning and recruitment activities.
- Conduct performance reviews and support employee development.
- Foster a strong safety culture and commitment to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Education

- Degree or diploma in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
- P.Eng. designation considered an asset.
- Mine Ventilation specialization considered a strong asset.

Experience

- 8+ years of mining, industrial ventilation, or related experience.
- Solid understanding of underground mine ventilation systems.
- Experience managing projects, budgets, and operational teams.
- Demonstrated business development and client relationship experience.
- Experience developing proposals, managing contracts, and supporting revenue growth.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
