Why join our team? The Numerical Control Machine Operator, class 2, works under minimum supervision of the lead hand or supervisor. Performs settings, operates or monitors metal or acrylic cutters designed for repetitive work.
As a Numerical Control Machine Operator your key responsibilities include:
- The number of machines to be operated simultaneously may vary according to the nature of the work performed and the cycle time;
- Investigates work orders or interprets drawings and/or plans in order to determine machining operations to be performed;
- Cuts and sands Plexiglas using sandblast, circular saw and scraper;
- Assembles, places and fixes parts on the numerical control machine;
- Enters, when necessary, codes corresponding to the cutting speed,
flow and coordinates in computer numerical control milling machines and changes tools based on the program.
- Deburrs tools and parts, when necessary;
- Uses some conventional machines in his/her work area, when necessary;
- Checks reference hole positions using coordinate measuring machine and zeroes as required.
- Checks machined part dimensions using micrometers, calipers, verniers and other precision measuring instruments;
- Reports programming anomalies;
- Records information and checklists for operators;
- Performs any other related tasks as assigned.
To Join Our Team, You Must
- Diploma of vocational Studies (DEP) in machining techniques or equivalent;
- Minimum of three (3) months of related experience;
- Use of complicated drawings, advanced mathematics and measuring instruments as well as a good knowledge of machining.
