About Maritime Quality Sod

Maritime Quality Sod operates three sod production farms across Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. We are committed to producing high-quality sod through sound nutrient management, effective pest control, safe work practices, and consistent crop care.

Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time seasonal Nutrient & Pest Management Technician to support day-to-day crop management across our farms in Musquodoboit, Amherst, and Sheffield. The role focuses on pest monitoring, fertilizer and pesticide applications, equipment calibration, application-rate calculations, record keeping, and clear daily communication.

Key Responsibilities

· Monitor sod fields for pests and assess crop conditions.

· Apply fertilizers and pest-control products in accordance with approved labels and company standards.

· Maintain compliance with provincial pesticide requirements at Nova Scotia and Current Brunswick facilities.

· Calibrate application equipment and prepare application plans.

· Calculate application rates and confirm accurate product application.

· Maintain complete monitoring and application records.

· Provide daily updates to the General Manager.





· Follow safe work practices, use required PPE and participate in training.

Required Qualifications

· Valid pesticide applicator licences for both Nova Scotia and New Brunswick or willingness to obtain immediately.

· Knowledge of pest monitoring and basic crop-protection practices; program-specific training will be provided.

· Demonstrated ability to calibrate application equipment and calculate application rates accurately.

· Robust attention to detail in documentation and reporting.

· Ability to travel between farm locations as required.

Preferred Qualifications

· Agricultural pesticide-application experience.

· Fertilizer application or nutrient-management experience.

· Familiarity with high-quality turf management and/or sod production.

Work Conditions

· Full-time seasonal employment from March 1 to December 15.

· Outdoor work in varying weather and field conditions.

· Travel among the Musquodoboit, Amherst, and Sheffield farms is required.

· Required PPE and all safety procedures must be followed.
