Summary The On-Site Leader is a key leadership role responsible for the seamless execution of daily field operations. You will champion a culture of safety and excellence by mentoring our Drivers, maintaining rigorous operational standards, and serving as a dedicated point of contact for our clients.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Promote and model GFL’s safety culture by leading through action and enforcing all Safety Policies and procedures.
- Coordinate daily work orders and personnel scheduling to ensure optimal resource allocation and timely service delivery.
- Maintain rigorous oversight of fleet operating standards, ensuring all equipment meets safety requirements and follows a strict preventative maintenance schedule.
- Ensure staff are using proper tools, equipment, and PPE safely and effectively.
- Supervise drivers, providing coaching, training, and performance evaluations.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, proactively communicating to build long-term partnerships and ensure project success.
- Perform regular site visits to conduct comprehensive field inspections and provide technical data to support the bidding and estimating process.
- Partner with the business development team by providing critical field-level insights and identifying opportunities for service expansion.
- Review and audit operator paperwork, including daily logs and Hours of Service (HOS), to ensure 100% regulatory compliance and data accuracy.
- Other duties as required.
Experience, Qualifications And Education
- Proven experience in a supervisory and/or leadership role is required.
- A strong background in one or more of the following areas is required: Vacuum, Pump Truck (preferred), Construction, Waste, Oil and Gas, Trucking/Fleet Management.
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License and a fairly clean Commercial Drivers Abstract is required
- Class 1 or 3A license is preferred.
- Versatile availability, with the ability to respond to on-call and emergency situations as needed.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
