Ontario Land Surveyor

Position Summary
Keystone Engineering is seeking an experienced Ontario Land Surveyor to support residential, commercial, and land-development projects throughout Southern Ontario.
The successful candidate must be licensed and in valuable standing with the Association of Ontario Land Surveyors. The surveyor may work as an independent subconsultant or on another mutually agreed arrangement.
Responsibilities
- Perform and supervise legal, boundary, topographic, reference, and construction surveys.
- Establish and verify property boundaries, survey monuments, easements, and rights-of-way.
- Prepare, review, sign, and certify survey plans and related documents.
- Complete field data collection and survey calculations.
- Review title documents, registered plans, deeds, and property records.
- Prepare topographic surveys for grading, servicing, drainage, and site-development design.
- Provide construction layout and legal survey services when required.
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, contractors, developers, municipalities, and property owners.
- Ensure all survey work complies with Ontario legislation, professional standards, and AOLS requirements.
- Supervise survey technicians, field crews, and CAD drafting personnel where applicable.
Qualifications
- Licensed as an Ontario Land Surveyor and in good standing with the Association of Ontario Land Surveyors.
- Demonstrated experience completing boundary and topographic surveys in Ontario.
- Strong knowledge of the Surveys Act, Surveyors Act, Land Titles Act, Registry Act, and applicable regulations.
- Experience with survey equipment, field data collection, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and survey-processing software.
- Ability to review and certify survey drawings and legal survey documents.
- Strong written communication, coordination, and client-service skills.
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence and ability to attend project sites.
- Professional liability insurance or the ability to work under an appropriately authorized and insured practice, where required.
Preferred Experience
- Residential infill and custom-home projects.
- Grading and building-permit surveys.
- Land-development and site-plan applications.
- Reference plans and surveyor’s real property reports.
- Construction layout and as-built surveys.
- Municipal and regional approval requirements.
