About the Role

3K Solutions Inc. is looking for an experienced Operations Manager – Ontario Telecommunications to lead and grow our Ontario operations.

This is a hands-on management position responsible for the day-to-day operation of our Ontario field teams. The Operations Manager will oversee Team Leads, field technicians and crews while working closely with 3K management, Project Managers, Project Coordinators, customers, subcontractors and building/property representatives.

The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining an efficient operation, including staffing, hiring, field planning, scheduling, budgets, safety, quality, fleet, tools, equipment, materials, permits and overall field performance.

This is not a typical 9–5 office position. While the role involves significant planning, coordination and management, the Operations Manager will also be expected to spend time in the field when required to support crews, resolve issues, inspect work, troubleshoot and keep projects moving.

Hours may vary depending on project schedules, crew requirements, customer requirements and operational issues.

Key Responsibilities - Operations & Crew Management

- Oversee the day-to-day operations of 3K Solutions' Ontario field teams.
- Directly oversee Team Leads, Field Technicians and field crews.
- Assign and coordinate crews based on project requirements, skill levels and workload.
- Monitor productivity, workmanship, attendance, project progress and overall crew performance.
- Ensure Team Leads are effectively managing their assigned crews and responsibilities.
- Identify operational issues and implement solutions quickly.
- Provide hands-on field support when required.
- Conduct regular site visits and field inspections.
- Step into the field when necessary to assist with troubleshooting, difficult installations, quality issues or operational challenges.
- Ensure projects remain properly staffed and on schedule.

Field Planning & Project Readiness The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring that field work is properly planned and ready for execution before crews arrive on site.

Responsibilities include:

- Develop and coordinate field execution plans for upcoming work.
- Review project requirements, drawings, site conditions and access requirements.
- Coordinate traffic control requirements, permits and other municipal or site-specific approvals as required.
- Coordinate traffic control plans, signage, lane closures and related field requirements where applicable.
- Ensure required permits and approvals are obtained before work begins.
- Coordinate building access, site access and scheduling requirements.
- Ensure crews have the correct materials, tools, vehicles and equipment for the work.
- Identify potential site issues or constraints before they affect production.
- Coordinate with customers, property managers, municipalities, subcontractors and other parties as required.
- Plan for equipment, accommodations and logistical requirements for work outside the primary service area.
- Ensure field crews have the necessary plans, instructions and information to complete work safely and efficiently.
- Review completed work and identify requirements for follow-up, remediation or closeout.

Hiring & Staffing

- Lead hiring and recruitment for Ontario field positions.
- Interview and evaluate potential employees and help determine appropriate staffing levels.
- Coordinate onboarding and training of new employees.
- Work with Team Leads and management to identify staffing requirements.
- Monitor employee performance and address performance or attendance issues.
- Help develop and maintain a strong field team as the Ontario operation grows.
- Identify opportunities to develop employees into Team Lead and other leadership positions.

Budget & Financial Management

- Manage operational budgets for Ontario field operations.
- Monitor labour, vehicle, equipment, material and other operating costs.
- Track project and operational expenses and identify areas where costs can be reduced without compromising quality or safety.
- Assist management with forecasting staffing, equipment and operational requirements.
- Ensure crews are operating efficiently and within approved budgets.
- Review operational spending and escalate significant variances or unexpected costs.

Safety & Compliance





- Take an active leadership role in maintaining 3K Solutions' safety standards.
- Ensure Team Leads and field employees are following company, client and regulatory safety requirements.
- Monitor completion of required safety documentation, inspections and training.
- Address unsafe work practices immediately.
- Participate in incident investigations and corrective actions when required.
- Ensure employees have the appropriate PPE, equipment and training for their assigned work.
- Support company safety programs, audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure field plans incorporate appropriate safety requirements, traffic control and site-specific hazards.
- Lead by example both in the office and in the field.

Fleet, Vehicles & Equipment

- Oversee the Ontario fleet and ensure company vehicles are properly maintained, serviced and kept in safe operating condition.
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance, repairs, inspections and service requirements.
- Monitor vehicle use and address maintenance or operational concerns.
- Ensure employees properly care for company vehicles and report damage or mechanical issues.
- Oversee company tools, equipment and materials assigned to Ontario crews.
- Maintain accountability for company property and ensure equipment is properly secured, maintained and used.
- Coordinate replacement or additional equipment requirements as the operation grows.

Fibre & Telecommunications Operations The Operations Manager must have a strong working understanding of telecommunications field operations, including:

- Fibre optic installation and deployment
- Fibre preparation, termination and splicing
- Fibre testing and commissioning
- MDU/MxU brownfield and retrofit deployments
- Greenfield construction
- Outside plant (OSP) work
- Individual residential fibre drops and customer connections
- Building entrances, common areas and telecommunications rooms
- Network plans, documentation and project closeout
- Troubleshooting and quality control

The Operations Manager does not need to be the most technically advanced splicer on the team. However, they must understand the work well enough to recognize problems, communicate effectively with technicians and Team Leads, make sound operational decisions and know when additional technical support is required. Quality & Performance

- Maintain high standards for workmanship and project completion.
- Monitor quality issues, deficiencies and rework.
- Ensure required photos, documentation, testing results and closeout information are completed.
- Work with Team Leads and technicians to identify recurring quality problems and implement corrective measures.
- Review field performance and productivity.
- Help develop processes and standards as the Ontario operation grows.

Project & Customer Coordination

- Work closely with Project Managers and Project Coordinators to ensure field operations support project requirements.
- Coordinate with customers, building managers, property representatives and other stakeholders when required.
- Ensure crews have the information, materials, equipment and access required to complete their work.
- Assist with resolving customer or building-related issues.
- Communicate operational challenges and project risks to 3K management.
- Coordinate with municipalities, traffic control providers, subcontractors and other external parties when required for field execution.

Remote & Regional Operations 3K Solutions intends to expand its Ontario operations beyond the current service area.

Future work may include Northern Ontario and other Ontario markets, including areas such as Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie, Manitoulin Island and surrounding communities.

The Operations Manager will be responsible for helping coordinate geographically dispersed operations, including:

- Staffing and crew deployment
- Field planning and project readiness
- Permits and traffic control requirements
- Travel and accommodations
- Vehicles and equipment
- Materials and inventory




- Local subcontractor/resource requirements
- Communication and field support
- Productivity and quality
- Safety and compliance

Extensive travel throughout Ontario will be required as the operation expands. Work Schedule & Availability

This is a full-time salaried management position.

This is not a traditional 9–5 office role. Hours may vary based on operational requirements, project schedules, customer needs, crew requirements and issues that arise in the field.

The successful candidate must be flexible and willing to adjust their schedule when required to support the operation.

The position may involve:

- Early mornings or later days depending on project requirements
- Occasional schedule changes
- Responding to operational issues outside standard office hours when necessary
- Regular field visits
- Hands-on field support when required
- Travel throughout Ontario
- Occasional overnight travel

The expectation is that the Operations Manager takes ownership of the Ontario operation and ensures that people, projects, field planning, safety, equipment and customers are properly supported. Qualifications & Requirements

- Previous telecommunications industry experience – REQUIRED
- Previous management, supervisory or crew leadership experience – REQUIRED
- Strong understanding of fibre optic and telecommunications field operations
- Experience managing field employees and/or crews
- Experience coordinating field work, site requirements or project logistics
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple crews and priorities simultaneously
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and make operational decisions
- Valid driver's licence
- Reliable transportation
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout Ontario
- Comfortable working in both office and field environments
- Ability to work around ladders, heights, construction environments and outdoor conditions when required
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Employment is conditional on required drug/alcohol testing in accordance with company and client requirements
