Provide crucial overnight support to women and children at YW Calgary's Crisis Shelter. This role emphasizes trauma-informed care and community resources, working from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. As a Women's Support Partner, you will deliver inclusive support in a domestic violence shelter, working collaboratively to create safe spaces for women.
Your expertise in crisis intervention, risk assessment, and resource management is essential in providing empowering services to shelter residents. Key Responsibilities:
- Offer trauma-informed support to shelter residents
- Handle calls on the 24-hour crisis line during shifts
- Conduct intake and safety planning with residents
- Maintain positive and respectful resident relations
- Monitor shelter safety and security protocols Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in social work or Human Services
- 1-3 years of experience in crisis or shelter settings
- First Aid and CPR certification required within 6 months
- Knowledge of anti-oppressive and inclusive practices
