Expected hours: Approximately 7–10.5 hours per week
Valuable Ovening is looking for a friendly and dependable part-time server to join our lunch team.
The regular lunch shifts are:
- Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
- 11:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
- Applicants must be available for at least two of these three shifts each week.
- Preference will be given to candidates who can work all three days consistently.
Training will begin in late September, with regular lunch shifts starting in early October.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and provide friendly, attentive service
- Take food and drink orders accurately
- Explain menu items and make recommendations
- Engage comfortably in friendly conversation with customers
- Serve food and drinks
- Prepare non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages
- Process payments using the POS system
- Clear, clean and reset tables
- Complete opening, cleaning and general side duties
- Work cooperatively with the kitchen team
Qualifications
- Previous serving experience is not required; training will be provided
- Comfortable communicating with customers in English
- Able to explain food and drinks, make recommendations and engage in small talk
- Friendly, responsible and punctual
- Able to work independently during quieter periods and efficiently during busy periods
- Must obtain a valid Serving It Right certificate before the first shift
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
