Overview of the Position:
The Parts Person is often the first person our customers speak with, making this one of the most important customer service roles in our company.
We're looking for someone who enjoys helping people, solving problems, and building lasting customer relationships. While technical knowledge is valuable, we believe outstanding customer service, a positive attitude, and a genuine desire to help customers are what make someone truly successful in this position.
Every day you'll work with customers, Service Technicians, Production, Procurement, and Warehouse teams to identify parts, answer questions, prepare quotations, process orders, and ensure customers receive prompt, accurate,
and professional service.
Our customers depend on us to keep their businesses operating. The right person takes pride in finding solutions, following through on commitments, and making every customer interaction a positive experience.
This is an onsite position.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Welcome and assist customers by phone, email, and in person with professionalism and enthusiasm.
- Listen carefully to understand customer needs and recommend the best solutions.
- Build positive relationships that encourage customers to return and recommend Frontier.
- Prepare accurate quotations and process parts orders efficiently.
- Resolve customer concerns with empathy, professionalism, and sound judgment.
- Recommend additional products or services that genuinely help customers complete their repair or maintenance efficiently.
- Support the Service Department by supplying parts required for work orders.
- Participate in the after-hours on-call rotation when scheduled.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming parts counter.
- Technical Responsibilities
- Identify parts using electronic parts catalogues, equipment information, model numbers, technical documents, and exploded-view diagrams.
- Process quotations, orders, inventory transactions, and receiving through our ERP system.
- Work closely with Service, Production, Procurement, and Warehouse teams to ensure customers receive the right parts as quickly as possible.
- Assist with inventory control and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Occasionally support shipping and receiving activities when additional assistance is needed.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
- Experience in parts sales, customer service, equipment dealerships, industrial supply, automotive, heavy equipment, agriculture, marine, trucking, or related industries.
- Experience identifying parts using electronic parts catalogues.
- Experience using ERP software for quoting, ordering, inventory, and customer orders (Epicor experience is an asset).
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and digital applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of inventory processes and shipping documentation is an asset.
- Forklift experience is an asset.
- Red Seal Parts Technician certification or apprenticeship is considered an asset.
Work Workplace: A Parts Person will occasionally be required to perform repetitive motions, including lifting, squatting, kneeling, bending, walking, torquing, pulling, carrying, pulling, crouching, backward positions, standing for extended periods, etc. Physical Job Requirement: This position requires occasional lifting of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. throughout a workday.
