Role Description The Pharmacist, Full-Time is an on-site position based in Kenora, ON. In this role, the pharmacist provides protected, effective, and patient-centered pharmaceutical care, including dispensing medications, reviewing prescriptions for accuracy, counseling patients on proper medication use, and monitoring for drug interactions and contraindications. The pharmacist collaborates with other healthcare professionals, supports medication management programs, and promotes health and wellness through immunizations and clinical services where applicable.
Responsibilities also include maintaining regulatory and company standards, overseeing pharmacy workflow, supporting and mentoring pharmacy students,
and contributing to a positive, inclusive environment. This is a full-time role requiring flexible availability to meet patient and operational needs.
Qualifications
- Licensed (or eligible for licensure) as a Pharmacist in the province of Ontario, with thorough knowledge of pharmacy laws, standards, and best practices.
- Strong clinical pharmacy skills, including medication review, patient counseling, and assessment of drug interactions and therapeutic appropriateness.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with patients, collaborate with healthcare teams, and support pharmacy students.
- Ability to manage workflow in a busy pharmacy environment, prioritize tasks, and maintain accuracy and attention to detail under time constraints.
- Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and high-quality care, with a focus on community health and wellness initiatives.
- Comfort with pharmacy technology systems and digital tools used for dispensing, documentation, and patient records.
- Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and ethical practice, with openness to ongoing learning and professional development.
- Previous community pharmacy experience and participation in student mentorship or scholarship programs are considered assets.
