Neighbourly Pharmacy is looking for Part-Time Pharmacy Assistants to join our team at Rx Drug Mart in Wingham, Ontario.
Compensation listed is a starting point only and will be determined based on candidate experience.
Patient Focused Care Responsibilities
- Blister Packs & Compliance Packaging: Filling and sealing multi-dose blister packs accurately.
- Prescription Processing: Entering patient, insurance, and doctor data into pharmacy software.
- Dispensing Support: Counting pills, measuring liquids, and labeling under pharmacist supervision.
- Inventory Control: Checking stock, ordering supplies, and removing expired products.
- POS & Billing: Operating cash registers and processing third-party insurance claims
- Attention to Detail: Double-checking work to ensure zero medication errors
- Focus & Concentration: Maintaining accuracy during repetitive packaging tasks.
- Customer Service: Assisting patients warmly and professionally in person and by phone.
- Time Management: Multitasking efficiently in a quick-paced environment.
- Teamwork: Working seamlessly with pharmacists and technicians to meet deadlines.
- Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is preferred
- Previous experience within a pharmacy is an asset (on-the-job training will be provided)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and pharmacy software (training will be provided)
- Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
