Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing, labeling, and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently
- Verify patient information and medication orders to ensure safety and compliance with medical regulations
- Manage inventory by stocking shelves, checking expiration dates, and ordering supplies as needed
- Provide excellent patient care by answering questions about medications, usage instructions, and potential side effects
- Maintain detailed records of prescriptions filled, medication logs, and patient interactions in accordance with privacy laws
- Support medication administration processes in hospital or clinical settings when applicable
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless medication delivery and patient safety
Qualifications
- Prior pharmacy technician experience or relevant medical support background preferred
- Experience working in a hospital environment highly desirable
- Robust knowledge of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals and patient care
- Excellent attention to detail to prevent errors in medication dispensing
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and team members
- Certification as a pharmacy technician (preferred) or willingness to obtain certification within the required timeframe
- Commitment to providing compassionate patient care and maintaining confidentiality
- Experience with Kroll software will be preferred.
