Steel Production Operator | Day & Afternoon Shifts | Burlington Area
Project XIII Staffing is partnering with a well-established manufacturing organization in the Greater Hamilton Area (Burlington) to recruit experienced Steel Production Operators . This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable industrial manufacturer with a strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
We're looking for hands-on manufacturing professionals with experience working in steel, automotive, aluminum, metal fabrication, heavy machinery, or a similar industrial environment . The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a physically demanding production setting and takes pride in maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
The Opportunity
As a Steel Production Operator, you'll be responsible for handling, stacking, packaging, and inspecting steel products according to production and customer specifications. You'll work closely with production and material handling teams to ensure products are prepared accurately and safely for the next stage of the manufacturing process.
What You'll Do
- Handle, align, and stack sheets of steel according to production specifications.
- Prepare, secure, and package steel bundles using appropriate materials and banding equipment.
- Label and tag completed products accurately.
- Perform quality checks to verify product type, size, quantity, and condition.
- Read and follow technical documents, work instructions, blueprints, and schematics.
- Use basic measuring tools to verify product specifications.
- Perform basic mechanical troubleshooting when required.
- Complete production documentation, checklists, and related paperwork accurately.
- Operate material-handling equipment where trained and certified.
- Identify and report equipment, production, quality, or safety concerns to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and manufacturing best practices.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of manufacturing or production experience .
- Previous experience in steel, automotive, aluminum, metal fabrication, heavy machinery, or a similar industrial environment strongly preferred.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting ability.
- Experience reading technical documents, work instructions, blueprints, or schematics.
- Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and industrial safety standards.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Technical or vocational training is considered an asset.
- Candidates with experience exclusively in food production may not have the industrial manufacturing background required for this position.
Working Workplace
- Industrial manufacturing facility located in the Burlington / Greater Hamilton Area .
- Safety-focused workplace with required PPE and established safety procedures.
- Physically demanding role involving lifting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and repetitive movements.

Compensation & Shifts
- $23.64 – $27.85/hour
- Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Afternoon Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Afternoon Shift Premium: Additional $0.45/hour
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
- Ability to bend and crouch when required.
- Comfortable handling tools, materials, and machine components.
- Comfortable working in a noisy industrial manufacturing environment.
- Ability to wear all required PPE.
