We are supporting our client, a major player in the Canadian aerospace industry, in the search for a Senior Professional, Engineering – EWIS Integrator for a 6–12 month contract, with the possibility of conversion to a permanent position.
Work arrangement: Hybrid – 2 days on-site, subject to change. For an exceptional PA Level 4 profile, a remote arrangement may be considered.
Travel: Minimal travel between plants may be required.
Role & Responsibilities
As a Senior EWIS Integrator, you will provide senior technical leadership for complex designs and major aircraft development or sustaining initiatives.
Your responsibilities will include
- Develop and review 3D EWIS harness definitions, routing, supports, component locations, assemblies, and installation/detail drawings.
- Ensure the physical integration of Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS) within the aircraft environment.
- Support the selection and integration of EWIS components, including connectors, backshells, clamps, brackets, conduits, and protective devices.
- Apply applicable requirements for separation and segregation, clearance, bend radius, support spacing, accessibility, maintainability, and environmental constraints.
- Coordinate 3D installations with electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, harness definitions, equipment interfaces, and aircraft zone constraints.
- Collaborate closely with electrical systems, structures, stress, interiors, methods, manufacturing, thermal, safety, electromagnetic effects, mass properties, suppliers, and other engineering functions.
- Resolve routing conflicts,
interface discrepancies, installation-sequence issues, and manufacturability concerns.
- Review EWIS layouts, installations, assemblies, and detailed definitions to ensure compliance with applicable design and certification requirements.
- Provide technical solutions for design, manufacturing, supplier, testing, and in-service issues, including root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Manage engineering changes and evaluate their impact on cost, schedule, weight, technical risk, and configuration.
- Maintain configuration data within the applicable PLM environment.
- Lead complex design activities across multiple aircraft zones or systems.
- Review and approve significant technical solutions within delegated authority.
- Mentor engineers and provide senior technical guidance across multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering – Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or another relevant engineering discipline.
- Typically 10–15 years of relevant aerospace engineering experience.
- Strong experience with EWIS installation, 3D harness definition, and component integration.
- Strong understanding of separation and segregation requirements, bend radii,
support spacing, protection, accessibility, and environmental constraints.
- Knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, harness manufacturing, installation, and inspection.
- Knowledge of EWIS certification principles, engineering drawings, configuration management, and weight management.
- Strong experience with CATIA V5, including applicable electrical workbenches.
- Experience with ENOVIA and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of NX and Teamcenter is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and technical leadership skills.
- Ability to influence technical decisions and mentor other engineers.
Languages
- English proficiency is mandatory.
- French is considered an asset.

- Duration: 6–12 months, with possibility of conversion.
