Program Support

Full Time, Contracts to March 31, 2027

Salary Range: $48,838 - $50,349

South Riverdale Community Health Centre is a non-profit, multi-service organization that provides primary healthcare, social and community outreach services with an emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention primarily to people of East Toronto. Our mission is to improve the lives of people that face barriers to physical, mental, spiritual and social well-being. We do so by meaningfully engaging our clients and communities, ensuring equitable access to primary health care and delivering quality care through a range of evidence informed programs, services and approaches. As a leader in community health, our locally and internationally recognized community services include cutting-edge primary health services, health promotion, harm reduction, environmental health, community food centre and population-based community programs for marginalized peoples. Reporting to the Manager, Service Administration and Quality, the Program Support is responsible for the maintenance of supplies and cleanliness of public areas and clinical exam rooms and lends assistance for reception and secretarial support to staff of the Centre as required. Working onsite is required.

Responsibilities

- Disinfect all medical equipment
- Daily infection control procedures throughout the building, cleaning commonly touched items (door knobs, railings, elevator buttons, etc.)
- Stock exam rooms and clinical spaces




- Ensure laundry for clinical spaces & kitchen has been done and put away
- Prepare and cleans blood work baskets
- Collect biohazardous waste for storage
- Gather sharps containers for lab pick-up

- Daily sterilization of equipment
- Perform weekly & monthly sterilization procedures for autoclaves
- Give supply order to the lead ordering staff weekly
- Receive, verify, and put away supply orders
- Perform weekly thorough cleaning of the program kitchens
- Provide backup support to Kitchen Facilitator
- Troubleshoots and resolves problems with kitchen appliances, e.g. dishwasher sanitizer function, and reports any unresolvable issues to Manager in a timely manner
- Check all medical supplies for expired dates, dispose of expired items and re-stock autoclaves
- Clean fridges throughout building on rotating basis
- Confirm supplies in first aid boxes throughout the centre
- Provide occasional relief coverage for front reception desk
- All other duties as required

Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Experience as a receptionist preferably in a clinical or social service setting
- Awareness of infection control procedures
- Physically able to perform light housekeeping chores
- Ability to handle high volume switchboard
- Ability to prioritize multiple demands
- Proficiency in the use of computer technology and various software applications




- Solid oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to assist people in a mature, friendly and helpful manner
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible, organized, a self-starter
- Ability to communicate in a second language an asset
- Understanding and knowledge of Harm Reduction programs as asset
- Police clearance documentation will be required for employment
- Proof of double COVID-19 vaccination status will be required for employment
