This position reports to the Associate Director, Capital Projects, to support the Capital Projects team with Construction administration related to expansion and growth within the District.

POSTING DETAILS

- Position - Project Assistant – Capital Projects
- Start Date - September 28, 2026
- Schedule - 12-month term, Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 4:00pm

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Keeps a variety of construction documentation organized, such as field reviews, weekly photographs, change orders, in digital capital library.
- Assists with coordination with facilities department to capture design and construction standards in a master specification format as well as creating work orders.
- Engages with vendors via email or phone as directed by Capital Projects team.



Including discussions with vendors on availability of services and/or products.
- Ensures all documents are catalogued, searchable, and accessible to internal stakeholders.
- Assists in fiscal reporting, ensuring documents are auditable.
- Supports Capital Team actively track costs for each project transaction.
- Skilled in BlueBeam Revu or similar software for marking up drawings and specifications.
- Maintains a variety of construction administration duties, from occupancy through warranty.
- Represents the Capital Team at construction meetings, and virtual team meetings. This includes understanding new technologies and initiatives.
- Communicates with administrators to understand their concerns and school requirements as needed.
- Travels to other district sites when needed, including accessing roofs or mechanical rooms.
- Performs other assigned comparable duties which are within the scope of knowledge, skills and abilities required by this class specification.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Grade 12 plus Certification in Building Technology or Engineering, or a related area of study.
- Over 2 of experience supporting daily operations in an office-based business, specifically working with Facilities, Capital Planning and/or construction teams.




- Bookkeeping experience to support financial reporting and department accounting/auditing requirements.
- Basic Understanding to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, and Excel), including advanced Excel skills such as creating pivot tables, analyzing data, and preparing accurate financial and operational spreadsheets.
- Familiarity with digital document management systems.
- Valid BC Driver’s License.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Comfortable working in both office and field environments.
