Job Overview
We are a medium-sized Masonry and Stone subcontracting company, located in the lower mainland, and are seeking a highly motivated, committed and organized
Project Coordinator/Draftman to participate in our fast-paced environment.
Our company undertakes numerous projects of approximately $2 Million in value, including a large amountof repeat business and we pride ourselves on retaining long term relationships with our clients.
The successful candidate should have a working understanding of the masonry and stone trade disciplines,and of building envelope construction concepts. We require someone with strong communication andproblem solving abilities and extremely detail oriented.
Responsibilities
· Assist Project Manager with the day-to-day coordination of masonry and stone projects.
· Review project drawings, specifications, contracts, and scope of work.
· Prepare and maintain project documentation, correspondence, logs, and records.
· Assist with progress billing, quantity tracking, and change order documentation.
· Follow up with suppliers regarding material availability, pricing, and delivery schedules.
· Coordinate material deliveries with project sites.
· Communicate project requirements and updates to the site team.
· Assist with preparing project closeout documentation.
· Prepare and revise masonry shop drawings, elevations, details, layouts, and installation drawings.
· Review architectural and structural drawings for masonry requirements and conflicts.
· Take dimensions and quantities from drawings for estimating and project coordination.
· Prepare drawings for block, brick, stone, flashing, reinforcing, embeds, anchors, and related masonry components.
· Incorporate field measurements and site conditions into drawings.
· Review drawings for accuracy, dimensions, materials, and constructability.
· Maintain drawing revisions and ensure the latest drawings are issued to the appropriate team members.
· Assist with marking up construction drawings and identifying changes or discrepancies.
· Help resolve drawing and coordination issues with the Project Manager and site team.
· Review site conditions and communicate discrepancies or potential issues.
· Assist with documenting site measurements, deficiencies, and changes.
· Attend site meetings when required.
Qualifications
Construction coordination related qualifications;
- 4 years of local experience working with construction developers, general contractors and sub-contractors;
- Solid understanding of modern construction practices, with a focus on the building envelope;
- Solid computer skills are greatly valued, including proficiency on Office/Project Management software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and AutoCAD and bluebeam;
- Experience with an estimating/management software would be an asset;
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to details;
- Ability to work independently and as a team, both in the office and on site;
- Fluent in English, both oral and written;
- A professional attitude, commitment to excellence, strong communicator, organized, detail orientated, and positive team player.
- Must hold a valid BC driver’s license.
